Transkribus is built and hosted in Europe by a cooperative. Your data is handled with care, and the platform keeps evolving thanks to the community behind it.
You retain full ownership of your documents and transcriptions, and you can delete them anytime.
This is set out clearly in our Terms and Conditions.
By using the platform, you give us permission to process your data so that we can provide the service and improve it. Without this permission, even storing your files or training your own models on our servers would not be legally possible.
All data is processed and stored on our own servers in Austria.
Fully GDPR-compliant, no Big Tech cloud dependencies.
We can only publicly display or transmitt user content if you have made it publicly accessible through a service provided by READ-COOP as is also stated in our Terms and Conditions.
